My first prototype for the game design. I wanted to mostly work on my first concept of making music production simple/dumbed down.
- The game wasn't really a game, Players had three sound buttons, bass, drums, and synths for a song I was working on. With two sliders that go with each sound button that allowed players to change the reverb and distortion of the sounds individually.
- I showed my prototype to 4 different people and got really interesting feedback
- Someone told me that I should make my controller incorporating a piano or an actual instrument
- Another person told me to use top down for 2D spacial awareness with sound
- Another was telling me to make sure to isolate each step of the production
- I knew I for sure wanted mixing into my game and messing with these features
- Feedback was minimal since the idea was nowhere close to where I wanted my game to be, however I was able to talk about my future plans doing the play test we did and got fantastic feedback there
- Distortion also seemed to be a fan favorite, many players had fun just messing with the distortion
- This was great, however I knew I needed my next prototype to be much closer to what I actually pictured this game to be…
